Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Foundation
My honest review on Revlons Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation
I had heard really good things about Revlons Photoready Foundation from other reviewers “it’s the best foundation in the world” kind of chat. But Revlon updated their Photoready, they changed the formula and renamed it Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation. But I assumed that it would be it would be similar or better to the previous product and worth a try. This is Revlon’s blurb-
“Revolutionary formula with Light-Filtering Technology delivers a poreless, airbrushed look. Soft-focus pigments create a luminous finish. your skin has never looked so flawless.”
It comes in a squat cylinder glass pump bottle. It costs £12.99. The consistency is liquid, I found it pretty runny and thin. I went for shade Vanilla 002 and it was a good match for me. The first time I tried it I was like “gross! get it off me” and it stayed in my collection, my makeup museum if you like, for some time untouched.
I put it on again yesterday to photograph and review and was pleasant surprised with the finish. Some reviews have described it as glittery, but I didn’t notice that.
It blends well with my foundation brush, the texture is light.
Why! I look so lovely and matte and luminous, check please! …And then it became apparent why I was so displeased the first time.
As I attempted to apply the rest of my makeup the Photoready Airbrush started coming off. It was still sitting in my pores, but largely it was removed when touched. Most odd. As I was applying powder I was simultaneously removing my foundation. But it was sitting in my pores and wrinkles. It’s hard to describe, but I can assure you it’s not good
I don’t know why I’m so orange in the third photo? They were all taken in natural light. Even though the foundation looks great after first application, I don’t think there’s any sign of it after a few hours.
Overview
Finish- Matte, oil-free
Coverage- Medium to full
Suits- Everybody/ Nobody
Longevity- Poor
On the one hand we have spf 20, an amazing luminous matte finish. On the other, it’s so transferable it’s gone in 60 seconds. It’s good for nothing apart from perhaps a brief photo shoot. Maybe that’s what Revlon Photoready Airbrush is designed for, temporary magnificence, but that’s not what I’m after. 5/10
Have you tried Revlon Photoready Airbrush? How did it go? X
