I Heart Makeup|I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold Palette|Review and Swatches
This is another product from Tam Beauty, the British brand responsible for Makeup Revolution (please see my other recent posts for more MUR/Tam Beauty love- Liquid Starlight Highlighter and Soph Eyeshadow Palette), The I Heart Makeup, I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold palette.
As I mentioned before, TAM Beauty is known for it’s dupes and the I Heart Chocolate has some similarities to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes in that the packaging looks like a chocolate bar. If you get your nose right into the I Heart Chocolate you can smell a cocoa smell. But the shades themselves are different.
The I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold Palette has 16 shades and costs just £8 from Superdrug. There are two large highlighters, 7 shimmers and 7 mattes. As with all Tam Beauty products this is cruelty free as well as vegan and gluten free.
Ingredients- Mica, Talc, Magnesium Stearate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Kaolin, Polybutene, Dimethicone, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Parfum May Contain [+/-] CI 77491, CI 77499, CI 77891, CI 15850, CI 77492, CI 77007, CI 15850 (contains parabens)
I Heart Makeup|I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold Palette- Review and Swatches
The packaging is dead pretty, even my husband commented on it. It has a sort of melting rose/gold chocolate bar over chocolate covered plastic. The I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold Palette is slimline and suitable for travel. There’s a mirror in the lid and one of those foam applicators that I always throw away.
I love that the highlighter/ pale neutral shades are double sized. These are always the ones I go through quickest.
Here are the shade names-
And here are the swatches-
Top Row-
- Hold up- double sized pale gold shimmer
- Touch me- metallic moss green
- Dirty rich- metallic dark red
- Hard work- yellow gold metallic glitter
- Luxe- dark pink glitter
Middle Row-
- Cheque- copper/bronze metallic
- Barbie- metallic bubblegum pink
- Gold digga- Metallic bronze gold
- Girl boss- matte red brown
- Uh oh- matte peach brown
- Not yours- matte bubblegum pink
Bottom Row-
- Spy- light matte grey brown
- Back up- matte dark red brown
- Side chick- Matte dark brick red
- Girl boss- matte warm toned brown
- Independent- double sized matte pale neutral
The metallic shades swatch beautifully- very pigmented and soft. The mattes look a bit lack lustre but in reality work fine when used on the eyes. The powders are soft and buttery to the touch, and have a slight chocolate smell. The blendability is moderate, they do take a bit of blending out, but a good eye primer helps. There is almost zero fall out.
There are a few shades that I’m unlikely to touch- the pinks basically- Barbie, Not yours and Luxe. That’s just me though, I’m not going to wear pink eyeshadow. The other shades though, The warm browns with a sprinkle of shimmer look lovely. The moss green is lovely and the brick red would make such an intense look if you went for it.
Here’s a look I did (I’ve said it before- not an eye model or mua, just a middle aged woman trying to take a photo of her eye with a toddler wrapped round her leg)
The lasting power is really surprising as well. I must be honest, my expectations were pretty low in this department. My eyeshadow lasted all day and I hadn’t even used a primer. That’s some voodoo shit with my oily eyelids.
I Heart Makeup|I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold Palette- Summary
This is a great palette, really fashionable, cute packaging. The powders are soft, the colours are lovely, and it’s so affordable. I do prefer the Soph palette somehow, there’s just more colour options. Nevertheless, if you’re after something fun (that you’ll actually be able to use in day to day life) the I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold Palette is a good buy.

Need this 😢😢😢
Their packaging is always so cute!
I’m such a sucker for rose gold… even if I didn’t like the shadow, I would still just buy it to display the pretty packaging!
Yes! It’s so pretty, and I bet you’d like the shadows too x
Great colors
This looks so tempting to buy – the colours look lovely and they look gorgeous on you! I found the original chocolate bar palette quite powdery with a lot of fall out, but I bought that years ago. Might have to buy this one to see if they’ve improved 😀
Madame Raptor x
I don’t find it powdery, in all honesty. There’s a Black Friday sale on at the mo, 70% off, check it out while its super cheap x
