Skintifique Protective Cream HPS and Cleanser P Review
Review of Skintifique Protective Cream HPS and Cleanser P. Skincare for sensitive skin that protects against metal allergy.
For people with sensitive eczema prone skin, skincare ingredient lists are a mine field of irritants. Unless you’re familiar with skincare terms it can be easier to just stick to what you know. My mind is boggled by skincare brands, you so often see a mass of fillers and essential oils, alcohol, parfum and a couple of actives thrown in. I don’t get why they put these things in? I so don’t want to put perfume on my face. Skintifique prides themselves on short ingredients lists devoid of irritants. This is very refreshing.

There’s a bit of a story behind own history with metal allergy. When I was pregnant with my second child, my grandmother unfortunately passed away. I got to say goodbye to her and let her know that I was going to be naming the baby after her. I was honoured to inherit her gold wedding ring which she had worn for so many decades. It joined my wedding ring and engagement ring on my ring finger.
For some reason the addition of this extra metal on my finger triggered an allergic reaction. I couldn’t even wear one ring without my finger flaring up with an extremely itchy scaly rash that lasted for weeks. I was gutted that I had to shelve my symbolic jewellery. So I have my own sentimental reasons for wanting the Skintifique Protective Cream HPS to work.
Skintifique Protective Cream HPS Review
Skintifique Protective Cream HPS is £22.86 for 20 mls from Skintifique or Amazon
The packaging is a clinical looking tube within a box.
There is a simple list of 12 ingredients in Protective Cream HPS- Aqua (Aka water), Calcium Carbonate, Isononyl Isonononate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) oil, Cetearyl alcohol, glycerin, 1,2- Hexanediol, Bisabolol, Ceteareth-20, Carbomer, Chlorphenesin and Tocopherol acetate. Check out the Skincarisma report on the ingredients.
Most of the ingredients are conditioning moisturising agents. I’m guessing the Calcium Carbonate is what binds the metal ions.
The cream is thin and white in colour. I apply quite a thick layer and let it soak in over a few minutes before putting my rings back on. It works a treat. After applying Skintifique Protective Cream HPS there is no itching all day long. Normally come the end of the day I’m tearing my rings off my finger.
Here’s a pic of my fingers when I wear my rings for 24 hours normally-
It’s red, rashy and unbelievably itchy. And after applying Skintifique Protective Cream HPS then wearing rings for 24 hours-
There’s no irritation whatsoever. I’m stunned and so pleased. I can wear my rings again!
The cream promises to protect against metal allergens for 14 hours. It definitely does. I honestly was expecting that I would just wash my hands and the cream would be gone. Somehow it manages to keep working even after getting my hands wet. Yesterday I couldn’t be bothered removing my rings to apply the cream. I just rubbed the Skintifique Protective Cream around my rings in a haphazard fashion and it still worked.
Skintifique Cleanser P Review
Skintifique Cleanser P is £12.07 for 200 mls from Skintifique or Amazon
Cleanser P is a micellar style cleanser designed for irritable skin. For irritable, read sensitive, eczema prone and acneic. It would equally work for normal skin. Inflammation is not good for any skin type and contributes to aging.
The ingredients are again simple-
Aqua, Polysorbate 20, Poloxamer 184, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chlorphenesin.
The ingredients don’t sound very natural. The skincare analysis is all good. Cleanser P is a micellar water. It works by trapping dirt in aggregations of charged particles. Basically the cleanser encloses dirt in bubbles of cleanser. Micelles are a good way of taking dirt away from the skin without affecting it too much. I still like do do a proper cleanse with water especially after wearing makeup.
Skintifique Cleanser P feels like nothing on the skin. There’s no stinging at all. I’ll often find with wipe on cleansers that I’ll get a stingy tingly feeling but this is totally bland. It has a specific smell, it reminds me of wax candles. I would rather smell wax candles than irritating perfume any day.
Cleanser P is suitable for those with irritable skin looking for a quick cleanse or makeup remover. Still wash your face afterwards though to be on the safe side.
I thoroughly recommend Skintifique. The Protective Cream HPS works like a charm. The Cleanser P is the least irritating micellar water I’ve tried. For those who suffer from sensitivity in general and if you have problems with skincare causing reactions, Skintifique is definitely worth checking out.
They also do sets of products based on the skin complaint, there’s a pack for psoriasis, tattoo care, nickel allergy, anti pollution and eczema. I really want to try their Hydrating Gel next to see if it lives up to the products I’ve tried.
