Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara Review and Before and After Pics
Review and photos of Benefit’s brand new space aged Bad Gal Bang volumising mascara.
You might have heard of Benefit’s much hyped new mascara. Benefit famously sent some of the bigger bloggers to the Maldives (not me, I was sent to Escentual in Cardiff bay, which was quite nice, but not the Maldives). So they’re really trying to get this product out there. I wonder if all the social media attention might actually detract from the product itself. Let’s see if it’s worth the fuss.
Here are the claims-
- 36 hour wear
- Gravity defying formula containing “Aeroparticles”
- Slim flexible brush for 360 degree reach
- Smudge proof, water resistant volumising formula
- In a study of 102 women 90% saw dramatic volume
- 94% saw instantly lifted lashes
- 92% said it lifted their lashes
- Contains Provitamin B5 for conditioning
Benefit Bad Gal Bang is £21.50 for a full size 8.5g tube or a mini 4g tube is £10.50 from Benefit.com or Boots.com.
I have quite thick black lashes to begin with so my lashes just need a little improvement and lengthening. That being said I never leave the house without mascara otherwise I look like I have tiny pea eyes. I know a lot of people who want their mascara to smash people in the face and Bad Gal Bang might be just the thing.
Benefit Bad Gal Bang Volumising Mascara Review and Pics
The packaging is nice. It comes in the usual Benefit packaging, with all the claims on full display. The tube is matte black with a knobbly embellished handle, it has a good weight to it. Benefit often does kitsch girly packaging and Bad Gal Bang is a little more rock and roll.
The brush is the silicone plastic type with really flexible little barbs. It’s surprisingly soft and bendy. I am a big fan of Benefit’s other best selling mascara- They’re Real Mascara, Bad Gal Bang has a much slimmer more flexible brush. The mascara itself is very black and quite thick.

It has a wax base which makes for the volume.
The Benefit artist told us all about the development of the product in that they were searching for the ideal ingredient that volumised without weighing down the lashes. After testing they found a these Aeroparticles which are used in space travel. The “Aeroparticles” bulk up the lashes without causing the curl to slump.Bad Gal Bang is certainly volumising.
The bloggers at the Benefit event were all taken aback by the lash drama. You need a really light hand with it or it can be a bit much. Here are the pics-
The results are pretty bold. I definitely agree with Bad Gal Bang’s claims of dramatic volume and length. It almost looks like false lashes. I’ve had numerous comments about my lashes while wearing it. The only thing to be aware of is that you do have to be gentle with the application or it does look clumpy.
Benefit Bad Gal Bang is surprisingly flexible and light too. You automatically expect such volume to feel stiff and heavy, but it’s light as a feather.
The wear is good. It lasts a full work day with no problem. I don’t know about 36 hours, that would be mental. By nighttime it had flaked a tiny bit. Here is a photo from the end of the day-
Removing Bad Gal Bang is a bit of a chore. You really do need to use something oily and work it right into the lashes. I use Clinique Take The Day Off Balm and it makes short work of it.
Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara Review
This mascara is fab if you have fine or short lashes or you want a really bold look. I’m definitely going to be using mine up. Where They’re Real is great for separation and length Bad Gal Bang works for big lashes.
Bad Gal Bang Mascara is available from Escentual.com and Boots.com(The links are affiliate, which means if you spend, I get a few pennies to spend on my blog. The mascara was received as a pr sample)
I love your review. Now I want to run out and get my own to try out.

I was only at the bloody hotel they held the launch at and despite lurking around A LOT I wasnβt invited to join them ππ©π
