Review of JML’s Finishing Touch Flawless 18 karat gold plated lady’s facial hair remover.

I’m glad I have the opportunity to talk about lady’s facial hair removal. I don’t hear about it much. I’ve heard of some skincare types using a little blade to remove facial hair to make their face look smoother but not many women discussing openly how they deal with their facial hair. Because women do have facial hair, all of us, to some extent. In my line of work I get see people up close and personal, women have facial hair. It’s good to have options for hair removal. I don’t think it’s anything to be embarrassed or self conscious about, if you don’t like it, shave it off.

JML Finishing Touch Flawless Rechargeable Review

The Finishing Touch Flawless is about 10cm long, cylindrical and white with rose gold details, so, it is very feminine and un shaver-like. It comes with a little plastic brush to sweep off the hairs and a USB cable so you can charge it with your phone charger.

I can see me losing that little brush pretty quickly.

The head of Finishing Touch Flawless is somewhere between the size of a 5p and a 10p. When you switch it on it makes a quiet buzzing noise. Maybe not quiet enough to use in the room where your husband is sleeping, but close to. It’s a neat little object but the build quality isn’t exactly 10/10. The head fell off quite easily, but I popped it back on and it was fine. It has a little light on the side which helps to illuminate the hairs, I tried it in the dark and with the light it was totally doable.

You use the Finishing Touch Flawless in circular motion with just the gentlest of pressures and it cuts the hairs at skin level. It takes a few minutes to cover the whole face.It works absolutely perfectly, the hair is removed swiftly and completely painlessly in seconds. There’s no redness or irritation whatsoever. You can do a quick tidy up then pop your moisturiser or makeup on.

I personally have the usual fine vellus hair that everyone has and maybe a bit more on my chin so I can’t comment on how the Finishing Touch Flawless would cope with longer or thicker hairs. The instructions state that it should be used on hairs shorter than 0.6cm in length. The head is plated with gold, which is generally less allergenic than other metals so less likely to cause irritation. I have metal allergies and I’m fine with this.

Every now and then you’ll have to empty out the hairs from behind the shaver head. Which is strangely satisfying.  I took a photo, if you’re delicate- look away now–

What you may well be curious about is the regrowth. What everyone has said when I told them that I’m reviewing a lady’s facial shaver is “Don’t you end up with stubble?” the answer is no, not really. Stubble is the sensation of bluntly cut hair growing out. Men’s hair is really thick so their stubble is very noticeable. Women’s hair is much softer and finer so stubble isn’t so much of an issue. Your hair will definitely not grow back thicker, that’s just a myth.

If you have very thick facial hair then maybe waxing or IPL might be a better choice, but this is certainly a good interim choice for keeping those unsightly hairs from ruining your appearance. I tried to take a photos of how smooth my face was after my lady shave, it’s tricky to catch on camera but it certainly looked and felt very smooth and flawless.

Even if you don’t have particular issue with facial hair removing the the really fine facial hairs will have a visible smoothening effect. Being totally smooth of face feels pretty great and the skin looks more perfect. Having a totally smooth face allows makeup and skincare to apply more easily. There have been lots of complaints that peptides serums, such as The Ordinary’s Buffet, have caused an increase in facial hair- The Finishing Touch Flawless would be a good solution for that.
