Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk Review
Review of Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk, a body moisturiser than gives a natural golden glow.
Summer has finally arrived and it’s time to get the old legs out. It’s a shame that they’re lily white. A gradual tanning moisturiser is a handy way to get your legs ready, without too much fuss.
Bondi Sands Gradual Tanner comes in a hefty 375ml pump bottle. It’s a great size and easy to dispense.
Here is the info-
- £11.99 for 375ml from Lookfantastic.com or BondiSands.com
- Double action formula which tans and nourishes skin at the same time
- Results in 1-3 uses
- There is also a version (in a white bottle) with SPF 15 and a gradual face tanning milk
- Results will not as dark as Bondi Sands lotion or mousse
- Won numerous beauty awards
Bondi Sands sent me a sample to try (thank you!) and a velvet tanning mitt to apply with. I thoroughly recommend getting the mitt also. Every time I forgot to use the mitt, I inadvertently turned my palms and fingernails yellow. It also allows an even application and feels really nice and soft.
Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk Review
The tanning milk is a cream formula, rather than a milk really. It spreads well and absorbs really quickly, probably takes about 3-4 minutes. It really absorbs fully and doesn’t leave any sort of residue or stickiness. There is quite a bit of an aroma to it, it smells of cocoa butter, a pleasant smell reminiscent of holidays, you don’t really get that strong biscuity fake tan smell.
The ingredient list- Water, Dihydroxyacetone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Cocoglycerides, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Laureth-7, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Isobutylparaben, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Fragrance, Polyacrylamide, Ethylparaben, Cetyl Phosphate, Triethanolamine, Erythrulose, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben.
Dihydroxyacetone aka DHA is the classic ingredient used in fake tan, and gives it its smell. It’s derived from sugar. There is also Aloe Vera extract and shea butter for moisture and vitamin E as an antioxidant. DHA could irritate sensitive skin, but it’s definitely a safer option than a natural tan.
I used the Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk for about two days before I noticed a colour change and by day 4 I looked like I had a light tan. It didn’t get any darker than light tan level before it starts to fade. It wears well. I sometimes find with full on fake tan products that it comes off unevenly- so I’m still tanned on my knees but my calves are white. As long as you keep using the gradual tanning milk, you’ll keep the colour going.
I thoroughly recommend Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk as a pre holiday/summmertime product for warming up body skin colour. It’s easy to use, non fussy, not smelly, doesn’t leave stains everywhere and you get a really good amount of product for your money. Get the Bondi Sands mitt as well, it’s good quality, really soft and will help you get your tan really even.
Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk is available from Lookfantastic for £11.99 at the time of writing, the mitt is £4.99. The product was gifted, which doesn’t affect my feelings about it and the links are affiliate (meaning that I get a small amount of money if you click and spend, which goes back to my blog). I am in Canada love the milk tanning lotion, but there my nails turn yellow. I hear there is a mit to use for more even coverage
