Swatches from the Exotica Doll “House of Glam Dolls” Palette by U.K. Made brand Freedom. I bought this some time ago and totally forgot to write about it (it’s still in stock at Freedom.com). My memory was jogged when I was thinking of timesaving palettes for a speedy glamour post I did recently. This palette is extremely convenient for quick makeup, it contains everything you need (apart from foundation and mascara).
Freedom is a fab British makeup brand by the same people who do Makeup Revolution and I Heart Makeup. It specialises in affordable professional makeup with no frills packaging. Freedom does 4 such House of Glam Dolls palettes each with a different theme. Exotica Doll is, I quote-
A beautiful palette inspired by exotic destinations and tropical voyages to reveal your sultry beauty.
RRP- just £8!
Exotica Doll contains everything you need for a full face look- a highlighter, a bronzer, a blush, four brow shades, 4 lip glosses, 5 matte eyeshadow shades and 7 metallic/shimmer eyeshadows.
The packaging is a slimline gloss black plastic compact with a large mirror in the lid. I was drawn to this particular House of Glam Dolls palette in particular for its turquoise, magenta and rust eyeshadow shades. One of Freedom’s winning qualities is how well pigmented it’s eyeshadows are. Considering how inexpensive it’s products are, the colour density is a great surprise. I waffle on about Freedom’s pigment power in my review of Dream catcher Pro 12 palette, another Freedom gem.
Here are the swatches- We have a matte white, matte forest green, matte turquoise, matte black, metallic rust, metallic pink and metallic light pink.Matte magenta, metallic moss green, metallic copper, champagne; brow shades- dark brown, light brown, black, auburn.
I would describe these lipglosses/sheer lipsticks as light pink, coral pink, dark pink and red.
See what I mean!! Like for 8 quid, all those shades and they’re not half bad. The blush and bronze are a bit orange for me and the Highlighter is possibly a bit white. The lip glosses last approx 7 mins so I can live without them.
But the eyeshadow is divine. Interesting colours that really show up! Here is a full face of Exotica Dollness, brows, blush, everything-
It lasts well too. It was just creasing at the end of a long day. I put the eyeshadow on at 6am before baby woke up and it was still there at 8pm.
The House of Glam Dolls palettes are ideal for taking away for the weekend and packing light (I never do pack light incidentally but in theory this palette would make it possible). I have been mainly using it for the eyeshadow, but in a pinch the rest of the powders are perfectly fine.
Freedom’s House of Glam Dolls Exotica Dolls Palette is an £8 bargain. Get one as a present for a young lady and one for yourself as a treat.
